Babypalooza is a happy, mirth-filled, joy-inducing look into the lives of some of my most favorite characters! This short story takes us back to Whidbey at my favorite time of year. This holiday finds Tom, John AND Dan all expecting new babies. And Tom’s take on this new stage in life is absolutely hilarious!

It is so much fun to see each of the Wingmen coming into their own and finding happiness with the incredible women in their lives. Adding to that happiness with new babies is almost too much. The story is sweet and sentimental, but still true to Tom Cat’s irreverent and hilarious sense of humor. I love each of them even more with every book and short story.

If you’ve read the Wingmen series, this short-story will give you all the Christmas-and-baby-feels! If you haven’t read the Wingmen, I don’t know what you’re waiting for. This is still one of my all-time favorite series full of a wonderful cast of characters that just keeps growing!

Pepper Knight is fresh out of law school and ready to make her mark as a legal professional. However, when she arrives for her new job in Everland, nothing is as she plans. And for the consummate planner, this is a problem. Also problematic are the sparks she feels for her next-door neighbor, the town veterinarian, Rhett Valentine.

Rhett has spent most of his life in Everland. He came back home from college to open his veterinary practice; much to the disappointment of his physician father who wanted him to follow in his footsteps. Rhett has spent years avoiding his father and creating his own life. But, that has left a little time for romance. Until pepper moved in next door.

Pepper is an uptight planner. She has her life in order until the bottom falls out. With no plan and no money, she’s forced to take any job she can find. And, the position she lands will leave you scratching your head and cracking up! She just needs to make a little money, get out of town and reorganize her life plan. She just doesn’t expect Rhett.

At first, I wasn’t sure what I thought of this book, it’s a little slow to start but the characters are so interesting and the setting is so unique that I soon found myself engrossed in their world. This book will not lead you to any earth-shattering secrets of the meaning of life. But, it will bring you joy and smiles and butterflies and happily ever after romance. I definitely recommend this series, especially the audio version of the book.

I’m in love with a new book boyfriend and he’s just swoony! He’s a cowboy – rugged, handsome, protective, hard working, loyal….but he’s also sweet, funny, charming and did I mention handsome? Justin Garrison is so much more than a shiny buckle and leather chaps. (But those don’t hurt either.) And, while I want to fight you to claim the spot as his #1 girl, more than that, I want you to read Wild for You and fall in love with him too!

When you fall hard for a book boyfriend, it’s really hard for the story’s heroine to live up to your high expectations. But, Zoe Saragossa does not disappoint. She’s kind and helpful, funny and quirky, cautious yet adventurous, smart and creative. She is worthy of the love of this exceptional hero.

This book is EVERYTHING! Winsome, funny and full of heart, you must read this city girl meets cowboy love story. You’ll find yourself head over spurs with everything about this charming and delightful, feel good story. It’s a slow burn with only a couple of steamy scenes, but it’s so delightful and fun you won’t even notice. I honestly LOL’d and highlighted tons of passages that made me laugh or ponder or swoon.

BFF K’s Review of Dirty Little Secret

 

Here are 2 warnings you need before you read, Dirty Little Lies:

1. This book ends with a cliffhanger. UGH! But, book two will be here very soon, so the wait is short!

2. There is a love triangle in this book. It’s an angsty little tension filled struggle to choose between two brothers. I’m not typically a fan of love triangles and will generally avoid a book that features them, so I want you to know you will find one in this book. But, I liked it anyway!

I was thrilled to have the audiobook release a couple of days early. I purchased it ASAP and added an audio listen to compliment my read. It was fantastic! Zachary Webber is a master!

Emma is a sweet and delightful librarian. She finds herself in a very unfamiliar world drawn to two men. Gavin and Cooper are brothers but they couldn’t be more different. The secrets are plentiful, the tension is palpable, and the sexy times are delectable!

The push and pull of the relationships makes this book a wild roller coaster ride with hairpin turns and wicked loopty-loops. It can be a little disorienting, but as soon as the ride comes to a stop, you’re ready to get back in line and do it all over again! Dirty Little Promise releases October 9th and the line forms behind me!

BFF K’s Review of Live Wire

 

There is a lot of action and emotion packed into a single short story! And, I’ll admit, I was at a bit of a disadvantage because I’m not familiar with this series or the characters. It felt a little bit like walking into a party that’s in full swing. It was kind of awkward at first, but after I got to know a couple of the characters, it was still a real good time!

And, I enjoyed the characters and story so much that I downloaded the first audio book in this series so that I can start from the beginning. With the plot and sub-plots in this short story, I’m guessing it is a really fun, heartwarming novella for a fan who has read all the books in the series. I still enjoyed the story and the characters even being new to the group!

The premise of the story and the attitude of the characters was campy-fun. It reminded me of the feel of the Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood series; sans vampires of course! The characters are colorful and fun. The banter is quick and smart and the audiobook is a really enjoyable listen.

Yay for a new series on audiobook! I’m looking forward to going back to the start of this series and hanging out with the Titan Group crew from the very beginning. I think you should join me!

Mandy

When we finally pull apart, before I can speak or even contemplate what happened, Malcolm’s blue eyes shine down on me, taking me in and reading me.

His voice rumbles through the background commotion of the bar. “You taste like sweet wine and smell like perfume and desire.”

Warmth fills my cheeks. “You taste like good beer.”

“Good? You’re a beer connoisseur?”

I shrug. “Mostly, I know cheap beer.”

He lifts my chin, bringing his indigo eyes into focus. The room disappears, making those blue orbs all I can see.

“I’m a connoisseur,” he says as his thumb gently rubs over my bruised lips. “And you, beautiful Mandy, if you were a beer, would never be a cheap one. No, you’re a rich custom craft brew. I see it in your eyes, feel it in your touch, and smell it in the air. Kissing a stranger isn’t something you do, is it?”

I try to move my eyes away, but Malcolm’s grip of my chin is unrelenting. Meeting his gaze, I reply, “No. I won’t even bore you with how long it’s been since I’ve kissed a real man.”

His eyes sparkle. “You kiss fake men?”

“Boys. Well, only one actually.”

“You kiss boys…” And then, as if the reality of his statement hits home, he asks, “You have a son?”

My heart flutters, its speed increasing by the second. “I do, but I don’t want to talk about him. Not because he isn’t important for he is—he’s my world—but because tonight isn’t about him. It’s about me.” I can’t gauge Malcolm’s reaction. I can only guess that he’s assuming that I’m some needy woman trying to get a man to take on the responsibility of a kid who isn’t his.

I reach out and splay my fingers over his chest. His heart is beating to match mine. “I don’t want to talk about him,” I continue, “because he’ll never know about you—I’ll never tell him and never introduce you. Don’t worry. I’m not after a man to rescue me. I’m perfectly content with my life as a mother. I just wanted to remember what it felt like to be a woman…for just one night.”

“I’m not anti-children—”

I shake my head. “Stop. That doesn’t matter.” It’s then that I notice the filled glasses on the table and laugh. “When did the waitress come?”

Malcolm bows his head until our noses touch. He inhales deeply, his eyes closing as his hand falls to my lap. “I’d say just after you.”

More heat floods my cheeks. “I-I didn’t…”

“Then we need to do something about that.” He looks again at the full glasses. “I think the drinks came while my tongue was busy getting to know your sweet mouth.” His hand splays over my thigh.

My breathing hitches. “Malcolm?”

“You said you want one night. One night doesn’t end with a kiss. It begins with one.”

I was so excited to dive into Keeper and the book lived up to my every expectation! The Harris Brothers Series is full of smart, funny, sexy boys and the women who meet them stride for stride. Booker and Poppy are no exception. Their story is filled with witty banter, emotional discoveries and lots of romance.

Booker is the baby of the Harris clan. He’s stretching his wings and exerting his independence. But, he’s reluctant to reach too far beyond his comfort zone. He’s thrilled when his childhood BFF returns to London. Though Booker’s still in the dark about her abrupt and semi-secretive exit from his life, he’s thrilled to have her back. Locking secret eyes with Belle, I quickly unwrap my purple ice treat and pop it in my mouth. I lean across the counter so I’m only a foot away from Booker, who’s now watching my lips. “So, Booker”—I suck hard and then take a nibble, my tongue swiping out to catch the syrupy liquid on my lips—“Do you know anyone who might be good for me?”

“Good for you for what?” Booker asks, his face devoid of any humour as he stares at my mouth with heat in his eyes.

“For a date. I thought maybe a teammate of yours might be good because they are familiar with Tower Park. They could show me around the stadium after the wedding. Give me a tour.” I wink.

His face turns red. “You’re not taking one of my fucking teammates to my brother’s wedding.”

“Why not?” I ask innocently and then plunge the lolly back in my mouth, going deeper this time.

He frowns as he watches my lips. “Because if you want a bloody tour of Tower Park, I can give you one.”

Rolling my eyes, I reply, “Fine, he doesn’t have to give me a tour. But I’m out of touch with people since I left, and you have a gaggle of teammates, Book. Surely you know someone who wouldn’t hate to spend the evening with me.”

“Roan DeWalt would be fun for her!” Vi interjects, snapping everyone’s attention to her as she whisks something in a bowl.

Tanner pipes up next. “Over my dead body he’s coming to my wedding. I’ve finally stopped wishing dismemberment on the prat.”

“It was only a suggestion!” Vi peals, looking perplexed. “It’s just that I set him up with our cousin Alice and she loved him! Roan is a South African dreamboat.” She waggles her eyebrows at me and I can’t help but smile. 

Suddenly, Booker stands, his stool screeching on the marble floor as he pushes it away. “Not Roan. Not any Bethnal players. None of them would work. You’re not their type.”

I hear Vi suck in a breath of air, and my cheeks heat with embarrassment. “Why not?” My jaw is tight with anger as my ice lolly drips, forgotten between my two fingers.

His fists clench on the counter. “Because I know you, Poppy. You’re not the kind of girl they’d go for.”

The way he’s acting gets right up my nose. I wanted to make him jealous, but that’s not what’s happening. He’s insinuating I’m not good enough for his mates, as if they’d never go for anyone like me. He doesn’t even know me as an adult. He’s pigeonholing me into the Poppy he thought he used to know. It’s complete and utter shit! “If you actually think I’m not good enough for your team—”

“They’re not good enough for you!” he shouts, interrupting me as he leans over the counter to get in my face. Booker eyes me hard, clearly not amused by my request. “No teammates, Pop. Not Roan. Not anyone. Got it?” His shoulders rise and fall as he pins me with the most aggressive face I’ve ever seen on him.

I can tell the moment he snaps out of it because his neck turns red and he looks around at his family, who are all staring at us with their mouths open. He shoves two hands through his hair as he turns on his heel and strides out the back door and into the garden.

It’s quiet in the kitchen as everyone sits there gobsmacked. 

“Wrong button,” Tanner quips and Belle elbows him in the ribs. I turn my red face to look at her and she nods with reassurance.

“I hope you girls know what you’re doing,” Vi says. Then she wipes her hands off and tosses the tea towel in front of me as she scurries out after Booker.

BFF K’s Review of Fallen Heir

 

I really should have read the Fallen Heir synopsis. I really should have. I always do. But, then again, what was the point? I know all of the characters involved in this series. And, since it’s one of my all-time favorite series, it doesn’t matter what the synopsis says, I’m reading this book anyway. But, if I had read the synopsis, I would have noted this little gem…..

“Warning: This book has a cliffhanger. The story will be resolved in Cracked Kingdom, due out January 2018.”

It wouldn’t have stopped me. I would have dived in and sprinted toward the finish regardless of that warning, but at least I would have known it was coming!

Fallen Heir is another mind-twisting, thoroughly engrossing, absolutely enthralling story that you won’t be able to put down. The geniuses of Erin Watt have created this world that is unlike any other. It’s shiny on the outside with an ugly, dirty underbelly that crawls with villains and secrets no one should uncover. And, the Royals are as grimy as they come.

But, they also have family bond and a code of loyalty to one another that is endearing enough to make you hope for the very best for all of them. This book centers around fan and family favorite, Easton Royal. He’s a complex and multi-layered character. You’ll love him one moment and want to throat punch him in the next. Easton is the walking wounded, but doesn’t know how to help himself or at the very least stay out of his own way. You’ll wish with all your heart that he can find a way to get himself out of the downward spiral he’s creating.

Hartley Wright is just as complex, but much more together than Easton. And, she’s right to be cautious when he sets his sights on her. Whether it’s a friendship or so much more, Hartley knows that she has to guard herself against the Royal charm, at all costs. Their relationship is as endearing as it is frustrating and I’m not sure which emotion wins in the end.

I’m not going to spoil any plot points, and there are some doozies, I’m just going to tell you that this book will blow your mind. There are twists and turns you don’t see coming and the very end will leave you with your jaw agape and your heart cracked open. Someone please tell me how I’m going to get through the next 4 months? I’ll be counting down the days until the release of Cracked Kingdom. It hurts like hell, but being #RoyallyRuined by this crew is worth every pain!
