My fingertips tapped along the tattoo she had etched below her collarbone, always before hidden by her clothes.
It was a dandelion. An exact replica of the logo hanging on the sign over her store.
She trembled, her voice abraded with something brutally sad. “My mama…she loved them. She believed they guided the paths of our dreams. We just had to have the courage to chase them.”
She gazed up at me. “Maybe they’re just out there waiting for us to find them.”
I touched her trusting face. “Yours are, darlin’. They’re out there, waiting for you to catch up to them. Think you’re closer. You just have to step up and let it go.”
